DTEI Graduate Scholars
Summer Grad Scholars will be mentored by faculty to support their development and prepare for potential future teaching opportunities. Faculty mentors will receive direct assistance from trained graduate students on their course preparation for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Pedagogical Scholars Program
The Pedagogical Scholars Program provides experienced graduate students with advanced pedagogical and professional development to prepare for the academic job market.
STAP
The Summer Teaching Apprenticeship Program offers teaching training and mentorship to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in preparation for teaching a summer course.
TA Professional Development Program
The TA Professional Development Training Program provides new teaching assistants with skills and information to be effective TAs at UCI.
Pedagogical Liaisons Program
Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars who complete University Studies 390X or the Certificate in Teaching Excellence can apply for the Pedagogical Liaisons Program to provide service to their departments and gain more practical pedagogical experience.
Certificate in Teaching Excellence
The Certificate in Teaching Excellence Program provides pedagogical training for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in a flexible and self-paced manner.
University Studies 390X
Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars can enroll in University Studies 390X to expand their expertise in teaching in higher education and to build welcoming interdisciplinary communities.
Just-in-Time TA Training
Instructors can schedule “just-in-time” course-specific TA training workshops on a variety of topics. Please give two weeks advance notice to schedule your training.
Workshops for Grads & Postdocs
Our workshops explore a variety of teaching related topics (e.g., active learning, inclusive teaching, assessments) and are led primarily by Senior Pedagogical Scholars. .
Graduate Student and Postdoc Travel Grant
The Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation (DTEI) is excited to offer travel grants (up to $1,000 each) for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows attending conferences or institutes related to pedagogy in higher education. Two rounds of applications will be held during the year.
