The Specifications Grading
Faculty Learning Community (FLC)
Over the past year, nearly 30 UCI faculty participated in the Teaching Experiment Academy and the 2022 Digital Learning Institute where they learned how to implement specifications grading into their courses. We invite our past participants and those newly interested in this topic to join our Faculty Learning Community (FLC) on Canvas to discuss curriculum design, student onboarding, and teaching best practices related to implementing a specifications grading structure in their courses. This faculty-run learning community welcomes all faculty and graduate students who are passionate about assessment design, inclusive teaching and alternative grading strategies are welcome to join this FLC to brainstorm teaching ideas, discuss implementation benefits & challenges, and exchange success stories & experiences. DTEI hosts a quarterly Spec Grading Breakfast FLC gathering to encourage faculty to meet and discuss their teaching experience with Specifications Grading.
