Throughout the Fall 2024 quarter, the Spring 2024 Institute for Pedagogical Wellness (IPW) participants led workshops and learning communities for their respective schools. These workshops and learning communities aimed to disseminate lessons learned from IPW and initiate conversations about pedagogical wellness practices within departments and schools.
The IPW is a collaborative program designed to equip faculty and graduate students with pedagogical wellness knowledge and skills that can be implemented in their classrooms. It also provides a supportive space for participants to enhance their teaching and professional development. The IPW aims to foster healthier and more welcoming instructional spaces for students while supporting the mental health of faculty and instructional teams.
On December 6, 2024, faculty and graduate student partners gathered for the IPW Lunch and Awards Ceremony to share their experiences. Both faculty and graduate student partners received a Certificate of Pedagogical Wellness and a plaque for participating in the program. Graduate students also received a $1,500 award upon completing the program.
The next Institute for Pedagogical Wellness will take place in Fall 2025, with applications opening in Summer 2025. Faculty and graduate students are invited to apply together through a collaborative application. For more information, visit the IPW website.
