From November 20-23, 2024, members of the UCI Postsecondary Education Research and Implementation (PERI) Institute attended the 49th Annual Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. ASHE is a U.S.-based scholarly organization focused on higher education research.
Sabrina Solanki (PERI Research and Program Director), Veronika Rozhenkova (PERI Research Associate), Anna Kye (PERI Postdoctoral Scholar), and Leanna Fong (PERI Grant Evaluator) presented two studies centered on the Program Pathway Mapper (PPM) Tool, a collaborative project with the Foundation for California Community College. The two presentations—Clarifying Transfer Pathways for Community College Students: A Case of the Program Pathway Mapper Tool and Technological Innovations to Improve Transfer Pathways and Degree Completion: An Evaluation of the Program Pathway Mapper Tool—focused on faculty and staff perspectives on the PPM tool and its role in streamlining student transfer pathways to determine the extent it impacts transfer student success metrics.
Overall, these two studies will capture the PPM’s unique contribution to more efficient, easier-to-navigate transfer pathways, making this study useful to all stakeholders invested in transfer student success.
