On Thursday, September 21, 2023, the UCI Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation (DTEI) will host the first-ever UCI Teach Day. UCI Teach Day is a free, day-long celebration for UC Irvine faculty, staff, and graduate students who strive to foster a culture of inclusion and equity for undergraduate students. All UCI Teach Day events will be held in person at the Anteater Learning Pavillion (ALP).

The event will begin at 9:00 AM with participant check-in, a free welcome breakfast, and opening remarks from Provost Hal Stern and Vice Provost Michael Dennin. Then, Dr. Natasha Turman, Director of the University of Michigan’s Women in Science and Engineering Residence Program, will deliver her keynote address focused on critical perspectives to advance student learning and success.

Following the keynote address, there will be a student experience panel, a complimentary lunch, and then a series of breakout sessions focused on education research, professional development opportunities, and pressing educational issues. UCI Teach Day will conclude with the 31st Annual Celebration of Teaching, which serves as an opportunity to recognize the Dr. De Gallow Professor of the Year, Most Promising Future Faculty, and additional instructors who have been honored with a campus teaching award over the past year.
