Putting Theories of Inclusive Teaching into Practice
Time/Date/Location: Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm PST via Zoom
Description: In this workshop, we will define the concepts of diversity, equity, inclusivity, and justice (DEIJ) in the context of teaching and learning. In addition, we will learn about the diversity of UCI’s undergraduate student body. With a centralized focus on the needs of our diverse student populations, we will explore opportunities for incorporating DEIJ frameworks when designing assessments, discuss challenges that may arise when putting these concepts into practice, and develop strategies for addressing these challenges.
