Are you struggling to make sure your students are engaging with course reading assignments? Are Canvas discussion boards not doing the trick? Well, social annotation might be the solution! In his final workshop of the academic year, faculty fellow Barry Goldenberg, from the School of Education, will introduceHypothesis–an accessible, engaging, and easy-to-use (for instructors and students) social annotation tool–and how it can be used to increase student engagement with course texts and reading materials. While this workshop will provide an overview of the nuts and bolts of Hypothesis and the benefits of social annotation, more importantly, it will demonstrate how to use Hypothesis and the process of social annotation as a primary mode of assessment in reading-intensive courses.
