The Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation (DTEI) is excited to announce the appointment of our new Project Manager, Reina Mizrahi. Her new role serves as the primary liaison between DTEI pedagogical and research staff and Office of Information Technology (OIT) technical staff, ensuring both sides are synchronized in their campuswide efforts to provide a cohesive and comprehensive suite of services to all instructors. Reina will be the project manager on various campuswide and UC-wide initiatives that include UC Online and Educational and Classroom Technology funding.
Danny Mann, Executive Director of DTEI, comments: “Many of DTEI’s goals depend on effective partnerships with OIT and UC-wide groups, and we are thrilled to have Reina represent DTEI in these collaborations.”
In her new role, Reina will draw from her Cognitive Science research background and experience at the Teaching and Learning Commons at UC San Diego, where she effectively managed a series of projects, such as assessing the effectiveness of professional development workshops by analyzing participant feedback and synthesizing key findings for continuous improvement. She also conducted instructor-requested observations and consultations to provide feedback, suggestions, and resources to help instructors across disciplines reach their educational goals. Reina has developed and facilitated trainings on topics such as culturally relevant pedagogy, promising teaching practices for neurodiverse students, and implementing Universal Design for Learning.
“I am truly excited to be joining the UCI Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation and being at the cross-section of education, research, and technology, “ says Reina. “I look forward to fostering impactful collaborations and contributing to initiatives that support and empower instructors at UCI.”
Join us in welcoming Reina to the team!
